The first trailer for the 2025 remake of Cujo has dropped, and it’s already sending chills down our spines. Directed by up-and-coming horror visionary Lena Hart, this modern retelling of Stephen King’s classic tale blends psychological dread with visceral terror in a way that feels fresh and terrifyingly grounded.

From the opening seconds, the trailer builds an oppressive atmosphere—fog-covered rural roads, distant howls, and uneasy silence. The cinematography leans into gritty realism, making the horror feel all the more real. Unlike the 1983 version, this Cujo promises a deeper look into the psychological unraveling of its characters, particularly Donna Trenton, played by Naomi Scott, who brings a fierce vulnerability to the role.

And then there’s Cujo himself. Gone is the clunky makeup of the past. Instead, we’re treated to a terrifyingly lifelike CGI-enhanced St. Bernard, whose slow transformation from beloved pet to rabid monster is subtly teased, not over-explained. The sound design—growls, heavy breathing, frantic barks—makes you feel like Cujo is just outside your door.
