Night Has Fallen (2025) – First Trailer | Gerard Butler

Review: Night Has Fallen (2025) – Gerard Butler’s Explosive Return to the Action Throne
It’s official: Gerard Butler is back, and this time, the night has fallen — literally. Night Has Fallen (2025) picks up where London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen left off, and if the first trailer is any indication, this film is about to raise the stakes to a whole new level of chaos.
The trailer opens with a breathless shot of Mike Banning (Butler) looking haggard, but still as relentless as ever. We see him in a dark, rain-soaked alley, chasing down shadowy figures in the dead of night, only to be ambushed in a scene so intense it’ll leave you gripping the edge of your seat. The line “The night isn’t just dark, Mike. It’s about to get deadly.” echoes through the trailer as the stakes skyrocket.
What follows is pure adrenaline: explosions in the middle of a packed city square, high-speed car chases through narrow alleyways, and a terrorist organization threatening to bring the world to its knees — all under the cover of darkness. Banning, now a shadow of his former self, is forced back into action to save not just the president, but an entire global network from collapse.
The film’s visuals are hauntingly beautiful, with sharp contrasts between the darkened cityscapes and the blinding explosions. Director Ric Roman Waugh keeps the action fast, fierce, and relentless — no downtime, no filler. Every scene feels like it could explode at any moment.
The trailer also introduces Charlize Theron (in a surprising yet brilliant cameo) as a mysterious intelligence agent who might be more than she appears, adding an unexpected twist to the already tense atmosphere.
Gerard Butler is the heart of this franchise, and it’s clear he hasn’t lost his touch. The man still has the fight in him, and his gritty, no-holds-barred performance makes the action even more exhilarating. Expect brutal combat, emotional stakes, and the kind of explosive set pieces that have come to define the Has Fallen series.
Trailer Verdict: 9/10 – Explosive, dark, and impossibly thrilling. The perfect ride for action junkies.
