Castle Falls (2021) Ida Lundgren, Scott Adkins

๐ŸŽฌ Movie Review: Castle Falls (2021) โ€“ Old School Action with a New Edge

If you’re a fan of gritty action flicks with heart, Castle Falls (2021) might be just the kind of under-the-radar gem youโ€™ve been missing. Directed by Dolph Lundgren and starring Scott Adkins alongside newcomer Ida Lundgren, the film delivers an intense mix of hand-to-hand combat, tension, and just enough character development to keep things grounded.

The story centers on Mike (Scott Adkins), a down-on-his-luck MMA fighter working demolition jobs to make ends meet. While preparing to tear down the old Castle Heights Hospital, he stumbles upon a hidden stash of $3 million in cash โ€” but heโ€™s not the only one who knows itโ€™s there. As multiple parties race against time to claim the loot before the building is blown up, Mike is forced into a brutal survival game. Ida Lundgren plays Emily, a nurse caught in the chaos who proves sheโ€™s far more than a damsel in distress.

Adkins once again shows why heโ€™s one of the most underrated action stars in the business. His fight scenes are clean, hard-hitting, and refreshingly practical. Ida Lundgren, in one of her first major roles, brings unexpected depth to her character, holding her own in a testosterone-heavy film. Itโ€™s clear she inherited more than just good looks from her dad.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Highlights:

Classic action pacing with real tension and stakes.

Adkins delivers on every punch, kick, and stare-down.

Ida Lundgren surprises with a performance that blends vulnerability and strength.

๐Ÿ˜ Weak Spots:

The villains are a bit generic and one-note.

The plot isnโ€™t groundbreaking โ€” but it doesnโ€™t really need to be.

๐ŸŽฏ Verdict:
Castle Falls doesnโ€™t reinvent the wheel, but it doesnโ€™t try to. What it does do is deliver a solid, satisfying action ride with just enough character to make you care. Fans of old-school action and underground crime thrillers will feel right at home.
