๐ฌ Shanghai Knights (2003)
Shanghai Knights (2003) is a comedy-action film and the sequel to Shanghai Noon (2000). The story follows two unlikely heroes, Chon Wang (Jackie Chan) and Roy O’Bannon (Owen Wilson), as they embark on an adventure in London.
The plot kicks off when Chon Wang receives a letter informing him that his father has been murdered in London by the villainous British nobleman, Lord Nelson Rathbone (Aidan Gillen). Chon and Roy travel to London to seek justice. They discover that Rathbone has stolen a valuable imperial artifact, a Chinese dragon seal, and is planning to use it to gain power.
The film blends action, comedy, and historical adventure as Chon and Roy fight their way through various challenges, including getting involved in London’s criminal underworld and dealing with a secret plot to assassinate the Chinese Empress. Along the way, they receive help from an unlikely ally, a British noblewoman named Wan, who also has her own personal reasons for seeking revenge on Rathbone.
The film concludes with a final showdown between Chon and Rathbone, where Chon avenges his father’s death and saves the Empress, all while Roy continues his comedic antics. The duo ultimately returns to America after their successful adventure.
