Spun (2002)

*Spun* (2002), directed by Jonas Åkerlund, is a raw and chaotic portrayal of the methamphetamine subculture. The film follows Ross, played by Jason Schwartzman, as he becomes embroiled in a whirlwind of addiction, crime, and dysfunction after a three-month drug binge. Ross finds himself navigating a gritty and surreal world populated by an eccentric cast of characters, including Brittany Murphy as Nikki, who introduces him to her boyfriend, The Cook, played by Mickey Rourke, a volatile meth supplier.

 

The ensemble cast also includes John Leguizamo as Spider Mike, a small-time drug dealer constantly at odds with his girlfriend Cookie, portrayed by Mena Suvari. Patrick Fugit, Peter Stormare, and Alexis Arquette round out the cast, adding a mix of dark humor and absurdity to the narrative.
