The Wind (2018)

The Wind (2018) is a supernatural horror film directed by Emma Tammi. Set in the late 19th century American frontier, the film explores themes of isolation, paranoia, and supernatural forces.
The story follows Lizzy Macklin (Caitlin Gerard), a woman living in a remote cabin on the prairie with her husband, Isaac (Ashley Zukerman). The arrival of new neighbors, Emma and Gideon Harper (Julia Goldani Telles and Dylan McTee), sets off a series of unsettling events.

As strange occurrences unfold, Lizzy begins to suspect that something evil may be lurking in the vast, desolate landscape. The film blends psychological horror with folklore, particularly drawing from the idea of the “prairie madness” that afflicted settlers in the frontier.

The Wind is notable for its atmospheric tension, minimal dialogue, and its exploration of female mental health under extreme isolation. The film’s ambiguous narrative leaves viewers questioning whether the supernatural elements are real or a product of Lizzy’s unraveling mind.
