The Hunt for Gollum 2 (2024)

The trailer for The Hunt for Gollum 2 (2024) begins with a haunting panorama of a mist-covered Middle-earth, hinting at the rising threat in the lands beyond Mordor. Gandalf’s (Ian McKellen) somber voiceover sets the tone: “The creature is more dangerous than ever… he must be found.” Gollum, the twisted and tormented creature, has vanished, and a new quest to find him begins.

We see Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), now older and weathered from his many battles, tasked once more with tracking down Gollum. Alongside him are his loyal companions, Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), setting out on a perilous journey through uncharted regions of Middle-earth. The stakes have never been higher, as whispers of a growing dark force emerge, seeking to capture Gollum and exploit his knowledge of the One Ring.

As the trailer progresses, we catch fleeting glimpses of Gollum (Andy Serkis), darting through dense forests, his obsession with the Ring driving him deeper into madness. His dual personalities—Smeagol and Gollum—are more conflicted than ever, with flashes of his internal struggle woven throughout the trailer.

The action intensifies as Aragorn and his comrades traverse dangerous landscapes, from icy mountains to underground caverns, all in pursuit of the elusive creature. The tension rises with the introduction of a mysterious new villain—a sorcerer from the East, played by Richard Armitage. This dark figure seeks Gollum for his own nefarious purpose, and a climactic battle looms.

The trailer’s final moments are chilling, as we see Gollum, his eyes gleaming in the shadows, muttering, “No one will take it from us… no one.” The screen fades to black, and the title The Hunt for Gollum 2 flashes across, followed by the tagline: “The hunt continues, but time is running out.”
