Following the chaos of the first mission, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) assembles a new Task Force X with one directive: eliminate a rogue metahuman hiding in a fortified nation. Peacemaker (John Cena) returns, now trying — and failing — to take a more “heroic” approach. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) is back, bringing her unpredictability and a flair for improvisation. Bloodsport (Idris Elba) reluctantly rejoins after Waller offers to reduce his sentence in exchange.
The mission sends them into a war-torn Eastern European country ruled by a dictator who harbors the metahuman — a telepath capable of controlling entire battalions. The plot escalates when the Squad learns the metahuman is a young girl, terrified and manipulated by the dictator to wage war.
As alliances shift, Harley begins to sympathize with the girl, Peacemaker questions Waller’s definition of “justice,” and Bloodsport wrestles with the decision to risk the team’s lives to save an enemy of the state. The third act erupts into an all-out battle between government forces, rogue mercenaries, and an unshackled telepath who turns the tide in their favor — but only after a costly betrayal.
The film ends with the girl disappearing into the night, Peacemaker reluctantly admitting he may have learned something about morality, and Waller smiling in her office, already planning the next mission.
