Movie: THE RAID 3 (2024)

The Raid is a 2011 Indonesian action thriller film written, directed, and edited by Gareth Evans. The film features Iko Uwais, who previously collaborated with Evans on another action film, Merantau, released in 2009. In The Raid, an elite squad is assigned to infiltrate a high-rise building controlled by a ruthless drug lord in the Jakarta slums, with Rama (played by Uwais) as a seasoned team member.
After its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), The Raid garnered positive reviews from critics. The film’s title was changed to The Raid: Redemption in the United States because distributor Sony Pictures Classics could not secure the original title rights; this also allowed Evans to plan future titles in the series. The US release of the film features a score composed by Mike Shinoda and Joseph Trapanese. It was released on DVD and Blu-ray in the United States on August 14, 2012. A sequel, The Raid 2, came out in 2014. Both films prominently feature the traditional Indonesian martial art of pencak silat, with fight choreography by Uwais and Yayan Ruhian. A third film was considered, but Evans decided not to pursue the project. Watch Movie:
