The Naked Gun (2025) is a gloriously absurd return to the world of slapstick policing, reviving the beloved spoof franchise with a new face — Liam Neeson — and the same old chaotic charm. The result? A surprisingly sharp, self-aware comedy that honors the Leslie Nielsen classic while updating the jokes for a post-Deadpool, post-smartphone era.

Liam Neeson plays Detective Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the legendary bumbling cop, stepping into a world of high-tech crime, low-brow gags, and everything in between. Neeson leans into the deadpan delivery with perfect timing, never winking at the camera — which only makes the lunacy funnier.
Pamela Anderson returns to the big screen as a mysterious femme fatale with secrets and a surprisingly sharp tongue. Ken Jeong is outrageously funny as the overly dramatic police chief, and Tiffany Haddish plays the no-nonsense agent trying (and failing) to control the madness.
The film blends classic sight gags, physical comedy, and rapid-fire one-liners with modern parody targets: AI, superhero movies, influencer culture, and even true crime podcasts. No one is safe, and nothing is sacred — in the best possible way.
Action scenes are intentionally over-the-top, often exploding into complete nonsense mid-chase or shootout. A recurring gag with a self-driving police car is one of the year’s funniest set pieces.
