Set in the late 21st century, Prometheus follows the crew of the spacecraft Prometheus as they embark on a journey to a distant moon, LV-223, after discovering ancient star maps created by many civilizations left behind by Earth. Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and her partner Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) believe that the star map is an invitation from humanity’s creators, known as “The Engineers.”
Funded by the Weyland Corporation and led by corporate executive Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron), the crew searches for answers to the fundamental question of humanity’s origins. Upon arriving at LV-223, they discover a vast, ancient alien structure containing advanced technology and disturbing evidence that the Engineers may have created something much more sinister compared to expected.
As the crew investigates, they encounter a bioengineered black slime with deadly mutant properties. David (Michael Fassbender), a robot on the ship, becomes more and more involved in uncovering the Engineers’ secrets, but his actions lead to dire consequences for the crew. The discovery of alien life quickly escalates into a struggle for survival as the Engineers’ true intentions and the potential dangers they pose to humanity come to light.
