Mr. Queen

When a modern-day chef gets trapped in the body of a Joseon Dynasty queen, chaos, hilarity and unexpected romance are sure to follow.
It’s not just a historical drama: it’s a comedy that breaks time and leaves tradition behind with a delicious blend of wit, intrigue and gender-busting mischief.
Choi Jin-hyuk plays Jang Bong-hwan, a highly skilled chef in modern-day South Korea, whose life takes a strange turn by waking up in the body of Queen Kim So-yong (Shin Hye-sun) in the Joseon Dynasty. Forced to navigate the treacherous world of palace politics while dealing with the uncomfortable reality of being a man trapped in a woman’s body, Bong-hwan feels hilariously out of place.

As he struggles to keep his secret and adjust to his new life, Bong-hwan draws the attention of King Cheoljong (Kim Jung-hyun), a seemingly weak and ineffective ruler who harbors his own secret agendas. What begins as a relationship of convenience soon transforms into something more as they discover a shared understanding and mutual respect that transcends gender and time.
