Aquaman 3 (2025) – First Trailer | Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa

Trailer Review: Aquaman 3 (2025) – First Look at the Deepest DC Dive Yet
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5)
DC just dropped the first trailer for Aquaman 3 and—believe it or not—it’s actually making waves. Jason Momoa returns in full Atlantean glory, but the big shocker? Timothée Chalamet joins the cast, and yes, he looks right at home in the underwater epic.
The trailer opens with a moody voiceover from Arthur Curry (Momoa), now ruling Atlantis but clearly haunted by an emerging threat from the deep. Then boom—enter Chalamet as Kairos, a mysterious water-bending rebel with unknown origins and possibly… royal blood? It’s a bold casting move that instantly shifts the tone: more mythic, more emotional, and surprisingly fresh.
Visually, Aquaman 3 dials things up to eleven. The underwater landscapes are even more surreal and beautiful than before, with glowing trench cities, colossal sea creatures, and high-tech Atlantean weaponry. There’s a glimpse of a massive underwater gladiator battle that already looks like the visual highlight of the film.
The action seems more grounded this time too, with less cartoonish CG chaos and more hand-to-hand combat (yes, even underwater). Momoa is as charismatic as ever, but Chalamet brings a brooding intensity that hints at a possible ally-turned-enemy arc.
The trailer teases a darker story than previous entries, with Atlantis caught between rebellion and invasion. There’s even a shot of Black Manta’s broken helmet—suggesting some big consequences from the last film.
Overall, Aquaman 3 is shaping up to be the most ambitious entry in the trilogy. With the surprise Chalamet casting, upgraded visuals, and a tone that mixes epic fantasy with political tension, the trailer has fans buzzing—and surprisingly hopeful.
DC may be treading water with some franchises, but Aquaman 3 looks ready to dive into something bold and unexpected.
