Anaconda 5: Fight for Survival (2025) – The Snake Is Back and Hungrier Than Ever

Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

The jungle has never been deadlier. Anaconda 5: Fight for Survival slithers onto screens with a vengeance, bringing back everything you loved (and feared) from the cult classic franchise—plus a few surprises. Directed by genre veteran Marcus Hall, the fifth installment doesn’t hold back on the action, the chaos, or the massive CGI serpents.

Set deep in the heart of the Amazon, the story follows a group of eco-researchers led by Dr. Tasha Greene (Jessica Alba), who stumbles upon a secret bio-weapons facility experimenting on genetically enhanced anacondas. You already know where this is going—except this time, the snakes are faster, smarter, and nearly unstoppable.

The plot isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but let’s be real—you don’t watch Anaconda movies for Shakespearean dialogue. You watch for over-the-top kills, jungle chases, and the kind of jump scares that make you spill your popcorn. In that department, Fight for Survival delivers.

A surprise cameo from Ice Cube (reprising his role from the original!) is a definite fan-pleaser, and the final showdown between Tasha and the alpha anaconda on a burning river raft? Pure B-movie gold.

Is it ridiculous? Absolutely.

Is it entertaining? Without a doubt.

Best enjoyed with the lights off, the volume up, and your disbelief fully suspended.
