Sharks, Storms, and Suspense – The Requin Is a Wild Ride (Even If It’s a Bit Bumpy)

Just finished watching The Requin (2022) and honestly… it was a mix of terrifying and totally over-the-top. If you’re into survival thrillers with sharks and non-stop tension, this might be your next guilty pleasure.

Alicia Silverstone stars as a woman on a romantic getaway gone horribly wrong — and I mean horribly. After a tropical storm destroys their ocean villa (yeah, it’s that kind of vacation), she ends up stranded at sea with danger lurking everywhere. The suspense builds fast, and once the shark shows up… well, let’s just say you might not want to go swimming for a while.

The visuals are actually better than I expected — the open-sea shots give off serious isolation vibes. Some of the CGI is a little shaky, and the plot isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but the film does keep you guessing. Plus, Silverstone really gives it her all. You can tell she committed to this role, even when things get a bit… out there.

It’s not Jaws, but it’s definitely entertaining if you’re in the mood for something tense, dramatic, and a little wild.
