Plot Summary
After the events of the first film, where Raya succeeded in uniting the fractured lands of Kumandra and saving the world from the evil Drunn, peace has returned to the land. The five kingdoms—Heart, Fang, Spine, Tail, and Talon—are learning to live together, and Raya has become the protector of the Dragon Gem, working alongside Sisu, the last living dragon, to ensure harmony.
However, the peace is fragile. As the lands begin to heal, old rivalries between the kingdoms begin to resurface, and a new threat emerges from the shadows. A group of rogue warriors, led by an enigmatic figure known as Xian (voiced by a new character/actor), seeks to unleash a new kind of magic that could divide Kumandra once more, this time with catastrophic consequences.
Raya, now older and wiser, must reunite her diverse group of allies—including Boun (voiced by Izaac Wang), Tong (voiced by Benedict Wong), and Namaari (voiced by Gemma Chan)—to track down this new threat and protect the land. Along the way, they’ll discover forgotten magic, ancient secrets, and confront their own fears and prejudices as they fight to safeguard the peace they’ve fought so hard to build.
In their journey, they will uncover the truth behind the origins of the dragons and the mystical forces that bind their world together. The film will explore deeper themes of trust, forgiveness, and the importance of unity as Raya must learn that even after a great victory, the battle for peace is never truly over.
