Ironheart (Riri Williams) is a fictional superhero featured in Marvel Comics, first introduced in 2015 by writers Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato. The character underwent a redesign by Eve Ewing and Kevin Libranda. Dominique Thorne is slated to portray Williams in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe streaming television series, Ironheart, currently under development for Disney+.

Riri Williams is a 15-year-old engineering student residing in Chicago, where she lives with her mother Ronnie and her paternal aunt Sharon following her father’s passing. A certified super-genius, she earns a scholarship to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Working independently, Riri creates a suit of armor reminiscent of the Iron Man Armor, using materials she procured from her campus. When campus security investigates, she escapes while wearing the suit. During an incident at the New Mexico State Penitentiary, where she prevents two inmates from escaping, her suit sustains damage. Returning home, Riri continues refining the suit despite her aunt’s disapproval. Tony Stark learns of Riri’s achievement and decides to support her decision to become a superheroine during their meeting.
