“The Mummy,” directed and written by Stephen Sommers in 1999, is an American action-adventure film. It’s a remake of the 1932 film of the same title, featuring Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, and Arnold Vosloo as the reanimated mummy.

The story tracks adventurer Rick O’Connell, who, along with a librarian and her older brother, ventures to Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead. There, they unwittingly resurrect Imhotep, a cursed high priest endowed with supernatural abilities.
